Embracing Responsibility: Lifelong Puppy Support

At our home, raising a litter of puppies is a cherished responsibility. We are dedicated to nurturing them with love and care, ensuring they are well-socialized and treated as part of our family. We firmly believe in supporting our puppy owners throughout the lifetime of their furry companions.

If you're interested in welcoming a puppy into your home, please reach out to us. We breed selectively, focusing on quality rather than quantity. If we don't have available puppies, we're more than happy to guide you to reputable breeders or direct you to the Breeder Referral page on the GSPCA.org. Remember, when choosing your puppy, always inquire about health clearances. Best of luck in your search for your new family member!

There are many people that mate GSPs and have puppies.   Few are true breeders and even fewer are preservation breeders.   That is the simple truth and we recommend you research to find a breeder that meets your needs and is a responsible ethical breeder.

A preservation breeder is dedicated to preserving and improving a specific dog breed. These breeders focus on maintaining the breed's historical traits, temperament, and conformation to the breed standard. Here are the key aspects of a preservation breeder:

Preserving Breed Standards: Preservation breeders adhere strictly to the established breed standards, as defined by kennel clubs or breed organizations. They breed dogs that conform to these standards in terms of appearance, temperament, and behavior.

Selective Breeding: Preservation breeders carefully select breeding mates based on their knowledge of the breed's genetics. They consider factors such as health, temperament, conformation, and working abilities to produce dogs that represent the best qualities of the breed.

Health Screening: Preservation breeders conduct thorough health screenings on their breeding dogs to minimize the risk of passing genetic diseases to the next generation. They prioritize the overall health and well-being of the dogs they breed.   Health tests for a specific breed can be found on the parent club website of OFA.

Ethical Practices: Preservation breeders follow ethical breeding practices, ensuring the physical and emotional welfare of their dogs. They provide a loving and nurturing environment for their animals, raising them in their home.

Education: Preservation breeders educate puppy buyers about the breed, its characteristics, care requirements, and responsible ownership. They offer guidance and support to new puppy owners.

Limited Breeding: Preservation breeders do not engage in mass or commercial breeding. They breed selectively and responsibly, focusing on the quality of puppies rather than quantity. Breeding is done with the intention of improving the breed, not for profit.

Lifelong Commitment: Preservation breeders maintain a lifelong commitment to the puppies they produce. They offer support and advice to puppy owners throughout the dog's life and are willing to take back dogs if necessary, ensuring they never end up in shelters or undesirable situations.

Active Involvement: Preservation breeders actively participate in dog shows, competitions, and other events related to their breed. They contribute to the breed community, sharing knowledge and working to preserve the breed's heritage.

In essence, preservation breeders play a crucial role in safeguarding the future of specific dog breeds, ensuring they remain true to their historical characteristics and are passed down to future generations in the best possible form.

How we raise our puppies

We use a well known and proven system called "Puppy Culture".   Puppy Culture introduces age appropriate exercises and ensures our puppies thrive in their new environments.

We constantly stay in communication with our puppy owners through our puppy journal, video chats, and our owners are invited for an onsite visit here.  Of course this visit is dependent upon the health and safety of our puppies and strict visit guidelines are followed.
